Also known as Andeezartinwood: WOOD CARVING hand crafted in Scotland
Andrew Moore - Woodcarver
Welcome to my online gallery which endeavours to show the types of work that I have created in wood since I first explored the world of wood in 1977 when , driven by unemployment laced with fascination, I embarked upon a new career in carving Welsh lovespoons.
The intricacies of the hand carved spoon, incorporating the magical caged wooden balls and chain links all carved from one piece of wood, formed a solid foundation from which to explore many avenues of carving.
I moved to Perthshire, Scotland in 1986 , having just returned from working and living in S.Africa , I concentrated on the Scottish tourist market by carving local wildlife subject matter such as wrens, salmon, otter, highland coos etc. .This was expanded with mythical subjects and some practical, but novel household items, including my " natural collection " of bowls and mirrors carved from local elm burrs.
From the natural world
From myth & magic
natural burr bowls
and from one-off natural-look mirrors
Please enjoy looking at my work.
